So here's some juicy rumour news, Reuters has reported that Huawei is currently meeting with Digital China Group Co Ltd about selling parts of its HONOR smartphone unit to potential buyers. Should it be true and successful, the deal could go up to 25 billion Yuan (~RM15.4 billion).

Based on a statement by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, it seems that there could be a possibility Huawei might be planning on selling their sub-brand HONOR, which could remove HONOR off the entity list. With HONOR off the entity list, they might be able to do business with US-based companies, which means they’ll gain access to hardware and software needed to manufacture their devices.

With the announcement of HarmonyOS 2.0 back in last month, many are expecting HUAWEI to bring the in-house operating system (OS) to smartphones. However, it was revealed earlier that the Chinese tech giant will only launch the first smartphone with the HarmonyOS next year. Now, it appears that not only new smartphones can have the OS, but current HUAWEI and HONOR devices will also get to make the switch (well, at least some).
